Two things, I would like to say about this product, first the drivers side tie down should be angled so as not to contact the emergency cable. the second is I put a piece of waxed strings about 4ft long and tied it on the back of the bolt in case it slipped back into the hole. The string gets cut when you tighten the bolt . It helped quite a bit. Otherwise it went on easily. thank you I hope this will help.

The Torklift tie downs for the Chevrolet and GM 2011-2012 trucks are not well designed and pieces have to be cut off the corners to keep the driver's side front tie down and its "spring perch plate" from rubbing though the protective covering for the fuel line and the brake line of the truck.

You will also need to have some thread locker compound like Loc-tite to re-fasten the bolt that comes out of the frame for the bed attachment and is reused to secure the tie downs.

The Bolt Fisher supplied works well but also can break when being removed from the bolt and if that happens you are stopped dead in your tracks. Torklift should put a couple extra of these two cent springs in the kits.

Instructions are not well written but most confusing was the terms used. An oblong rectangular plate with a bolt section welded on is called a "square bolt" which it is not and the piece of angle plate is referred to in the instructions as the "spring perch plate". The 6 key parts are not interchangeable for the left and right side of the truck but they are not labeled as to which side they are to be attached. After one side is completed there is not a problem but a few stick on labels would be helpful.

So in addition to some metric sockets, 60 lb. torque wrench, needle nose pliers, open ended or Crescent wrench, I found I also needed the aforementioned Loc-tite, a power hacksaw, and a right angle grinder to trim the left front perch plate and the left front tie down. Later I will be adding more protection for the fuel and brake lines.

It would be faster the second time around as I would precut the sections of the tie down and the spring perch plate and not have bolted them on and then taken them off and made the fixes and then bolted them back on.

Great tie downs. A little hard to get on at first with one person, but two people can do it pretty easy. Strange way to attach but works perfect. Advise to read all instructions and get a firm idea of procedures before you start.

The instructions for the 2011 GMC are not written correctly. When fishing the bolt through the front spring perch you need to come in from the inside of the frame instead of the bottom which is way too small. Contacted Matt in the service department at the Torklift factory who said he had performed the installation. If he did he could not have used the hole they suggest. He got a hold of someone in engieneering for a fix. I would also suggest that when installing these you start on the pasenger side instead of the driver side as stated because it is much easier to see the correct hole and makes the driver side easier to understand. Good product when finally installed and this is my second set. The ones I ordered for my 2008 GMC were also incorrect as they sent me the ones for a 2007 before they knew they did not fit a new 2008 truck.
