Shipping was fast.
The box was a little beat up and part of the hitch had poked thru the cardboard....but no damage was found.

Installation was straight forward and with some helping hands, fairly easy.

Seems sturdy enough and well made.
Finish is nice annd I expect the hitch to last as long as the truck does.

Great hitch. Fairly easy install. Large weld spot on bumper from factory I had to grind down to get it to line up with bolt holes, but that was all. Toyota's fault, not the hitch.

I ordered a hitch for my 1996 Tacoma on Friday afternoon, the next morning I had a e-mail that my hitch had already been shipped. It arrived the following Tuesday afternoon. What great service and value HitchSource gives to it's customers. The hitch was the Curt brand and it is easy for one person to install, which is what I did in about an hour. Quick shipping, and, as my 5 out of 5 rating indicates, I would order this hitch again. It is sturdy, well made, and the paint job is nice.

Now for the tough part: installation. I really had a hard time getting the four bolts/holes to align on the brackets attached to the frame. I could get three out of four on with no problem, but, even though I didn't tighten anything down, the fourth hole just did not want to line up. My friend and I finally got the bolts in doing some twisting and using a punch. Installation was over an hour. In reading the other reviews I don't see that anyone else had this problem.

I'm using the hitch to hold a bike rack which weighs about 60 pounds without the bikes. It is rock solid.

The hitch looks great (what little you see of it) and fits great. An installation tip: The bumper on the Tacoma has to be removed from the mounting brackets so don't waste any time trying to put the hitch on with the brackets still attached. When removing the bumper mount brackets, there are two bolts on each side, the bolt towards the front of the truck has the nut welded to the frame (and the nut is fairly hidden, so it will fool you) so no need to try and remove it or even put a socket on it to hold it. I wasted an extra 20 minutes with that nut. With these couple of tips the job should only take 30 minutes. An extra set of hands to help hold one side of the bumper (when the time comes) is a plus. I would definitely recommend this hitch. It has loops for the safety chains (which I prefer), not like the picture that may have a flat metal piece with an oval hole cut in it. Not much of a difference, but I prefer the loops.

Great company to deal with for Canadians. They ship from a warehouse in Canada which cut down on shipping Cost and other outrageous fees associated with items being shipped from the US. I was a little worried at first but it was so simple to install on my Tacoma. I had my son help but I could have easily performed the hitch install myself. It was good to have his company. No special tools, no drilling but i did use a torque wrench although i don't think you need one. I am going to get a trailer hitch for my van now, it was so easy.

I recomend this hitch for the Toyota Tacoma. It's very high quality heavy steel with good welds and a powder coat finish that shines like a new car.
Installation took about an hour without any help from anyone else.
Its heavy and hard to lift by yourself. And thats what you want from a trailer hitch.

I am very happy with the hitch. Fit-up was good, no snags were encountered. The only thing I would suggest is to provide spacers for the bumper brackets so that everything remains aligned. It was easily fixed by using large diameter washers, but not everyone may have these on hand and this would delay installation. Or, a note could be added in the installation instructions that spacers should be obtained before installation commences.
