Easy install took about 15 minutes by myself, even with having to tap out vehicle holes (7 year old vehicle) trailer towed perfect hardly knew it was back there. Would purchase again, great price with quick delivery.

Great product and easy to install. Only 4 bolts to install the hitch and lower the muffler to get the hitch in position was a snap. The instructions are easy to follow and I did remove a extra hanging bracket arm from the Toyota Rav 4 muffler that was probably used for a different model and not needed on the Toyota Rav 4 It was only two small bolts, and removing it made sure it would not rub on frame of hitch. The Hitch is easy but be prepared when you do the wiring harness.

Received hitch for my RAV4 much quicker than I expected. Quality of hitch is excellent and I had it on my vehicle in about twenty minutes. Did clean out bolt holes, previous to receiving hitch, with Liquid Wrench and round wire brush so that threads were clean and lubricated.

Great hitch. No problem to install. Removed tie down strap. Bought some round wire brushes from Harbor Freight and used WD-40 to clean out bolt holes. Used lock tight on threads of bolts. Was installed less than 1 hour.

My hitch was delivered in no time! it was installed by myself in half hour. Removing the tow plate was hard because I think they put sometype of adhesive on those screws from the factory. This hicth mkes the Rav4 look beefy! Love it!

I received the Toyota Rav4 hitch earlier than expected and the installation,
with the help of a good friend (I am not yet allowed to bend my neck
for medical reasons) was indeed very easy.
Wish I had thought of an extension piece for the wrenches to get to the bolts on the side of the muffler though.
Thanks for a sturdy hitch that we will be using often and
for years to come.
Recommend it to anyone who needs one and has a few tools.

Just installed this hitch (Curt 13509) myself on my 2011 Toyota RAV4. Wow, was it ever so easy! I ordered it on 4/12/2011 and received it in perfect condition from UPS on 4/14/2011; two days later. The only thing I had to do was lower the muffler exhaust pipe by sliding the exhaust pipe off the rubber support. The bolt holes on the hitch lined up perfectly. I would highly recommend this hitch to everyone. Getting it from Hitch Source LLC is the way to go. And at a great price, too.

Product arrived quickly. Installed without major problems. Be prepared to spend some time prepping the holes the hitch mounts to as they my have debris that needs to be removed. I used a brass barrel brush attached to my power drill and the holes cleaned out in a snap.

Hitch itself seems like fine product. Installation on my 06 RAV-4 was very difficult due to rust and dirt in weld nut threads. I finally ground a notch in a spare bolt with a grinding wheel to make a crude tap to clean the threads in the weld nuts. It would be helpful if they could provide some sort of thread cleaning device with the hitch.

Very fast shipping! Came 2 days after ordering. Hitch is of good quality and fit the RAV4 perfectly. Was able to install it by myself in about 30 minutes - most of the time was spent trying to remove the car's bracket - they factory had really torqued that sucker down! Installing the hitch was easy if you put the hitch under the vehicle, and then prop it up with the box that it was shipped with.

The bolts did not have any loctite or threadlocker applied, so I'd recommend that you apply some before installing it. The hitch seems solid enough, and would probably tow up to 3500 lbs fine, but it would have been better if Curt had designed the hitch with more contact points for more bolts (like the OEM from Toyota) - the RAV4 frame has at least two-three other bolt holes that could be used on each side (one on lateral side, and two on the back side - this would reduce risk of damage to the subframe especially if you're using a trailer that would shift sideways, etc.).

Had to use a pry bar against the gas tank to get the last bolt lined up, and I could only turn the bolt above the muffler 1/8 turn at a time. Regardless- nice fit and finish, shipping was quick, and it went on relatively easy. Now, if the wiring was so easy...

Install was more difficult than anticipated only because
the four holes for attaching the hitch were at the 'limits'
of the bolt holes in the frame. I had to use a 'pry screwdriver'
to align the holes. Once the bolts were started and tightened,
the hitch was very secure.

I bought this trailer hitch for my 2008 Toyota RAV4. True to form the hitch arrived in 48 hours which gave me plenty of time before my trip to install the hitch.
I used a bottle jack to get the hitch close to the holes, then my wife got under the truck and turned the first bolt while I aligned the hitch—it's pretty heavy, but SOLID. Once one bolt was engaged I got under and torqued the hitch in place. Looks good and does a very nice job.

One thing, the hitch is not the one featured on the site. That one is for a Nissan. Why not get a photo of the actual hitch for the RAV4?

This hitch is top of the line. Sleek appearance on the RAV4. Very durable with a reasonable price that won't kill ya. Awesome product, price, delivery and service. Abosolutely no cons here. It did take me longer than 15 minutes to install it by myself but that was due to the unused theads on my SUV. I recommend spaying with WD-40 to help screw in more smoothly. I absolutely love this hitch, it's also lighter than most of the ones that I looked at and with these gas prices I'll take any little thing that will help!

This is a trailer hitch for an '07 Rav4. The item arrived sooner than promised and well packaged. The instructions were clear and the installation was fairly easy. Those attempting it themselves should get some sort of boxes or blocks to lift the item into place while the bolts are being screwed in. The product looks great and performs as promised. Great hitch! Arrived in two days in great condition. All hardware was correct and install was easy. Using the shipping box as a helper on one side (and to prevent scratches) got it bolted in quickly after taking off the stock tow hook.Then sprayed bolt areas with underbody coating from the auto store.This is not the first hitch I've had,and it looks great! Just a little tip for peace of mind about bolt coming loose [ I don't think they will ] take some nail polish from your wife or daughter [ make sure old or not their favorite one ] and put a line from bolt to bracket, so if bolt moved you will know right away.

I installed the hitch on my Rav4 with relative ease and I am very happy with the result. The only negative would be that when UPS delivered the parcel, they just left it on my front step as I was not home during the daytime. Anyone could have taken it before I got home that day. Other couriers leave a notice stuck to your door or mailbox informing you that they attempted a delivery, and that the item will be held at a secure depot for you for later pick up. Other than that, I am pleased with the result.

Just installed the hitch on my 2007 4 Cyl Rav4 (no towing package). It was relatively simple with 4 bolts going right inot the frame. Took about 1/2 hour. No mods needed, just remvoing the tow hook from the area under the frame where the hitch is mounted. No need to jack up the rear. Suggest propping the hitch up on a six inch high support for easier mounting. The hitch looks great but lowers the rear height by about 5 inches - still plenty of room. Suggest you have a good troque wrench and a rachet set.
