I installed my hitch on a 2016 Chevy Equinox. The wires, used to feed the blocks and bolts into the frame, need to be 2 inches longer as I had to feed them in from the very outside of the frame. Once I was able to feed the wire in far enough they fed through the center very easily but it was almost impossible to remove the wire from the bolt. I recommend you only thread the first bolt in about 2 turns and then thread the second bolt in a little further, as the wire stretches out while removing it from the bolt. I recommend you start 1 bolt in each end of the hitch before attempting to start the nuts on the center bolts. There is not much room to access the center bolts but it does help to use a needle nose pliers to hold the bolt down while starting the nuts. Even with those minor problems, it only took 40 minutes to install the hitch and it looks very good when completed.

Thank you HitchSource.Com!! My Neighbor Roy turned me on to your site and I am very glad he did. My old Taurus wagon had a hitch and lights on it for my small trailer. this car was replaced with an 09 Chevy Equinox Sport within the last 3 weeks and I wanted a hitch right away on my new SUZ.

For price and quick no fuss delivery HitchSource.com is the only place to go.

Seemed like it was only the next day and my hitch and light kit package was on my doorstep. I do not like to buy things and have them hang around without installing them so the very next weekend after delivery I threw the box in the back of the Equinox SUV and drove to my hangar (where all the tools are) and got to work.

I was surprised how well packed the hitch was and after opening I placed the hitch under the Equinox. The directions were clear all nuts bolts and hardware plus a "fish" wire for other installations included.

At 31lbs I used a small jack to hold the hitch in place after popping out the hitch cut out in the bumper cover.

"Easy" is the word I would use to describe the installation of this hitch. 6 bolts and area washers is all that was required to securely attach this hitch to the frame of the Equinox.

While I was unable to use my torque wrench because of access issues a 1/2 drive breaker bar with a 3/4 socket and I'm sure provided at least the required 76 FTLBS of torque.

I do plan to check tightness after pulling a trailer some miles but believe my installation is very secure as I sprayed WD40 on the bolt threads to insure full torque. I also started all the bolts in all 6 holes before fully tightening these fasteners.

Start to finish about 30-40 minuets to install this hitch on my Equinox with availability of simple tools. I have yet to connect the light kit but do not expect any issues with this part of the installation. Thanks again for a great product priced right!

Installation was really easy since it fit welded nuts on the inside of the frame but it still took me approximately 45 minutes to install. This was mainly due to the fact that there were no access holes in the bottom of the rear frame so feeding the bolts through to the center mount was a little more time consuming and I had to add an extension to the feed wire so it would reach clear to the end of the frame where the hole was. Ingenious idea having the wire with the threaded end on it to pull the bolts through the holes.
Pulled my trailer home without a hitch...or should I say with a very dependable hitch!
Thanks!!!
