I bought this for my 2006 XLR-V (which is built on the same chassis as the C6 Z06 Vette). At the time I bought it, it wasn't labeled that it wouldn't work with the dual-mode exhaust which the XLR-V shares with the Z06. So its been sitting on my garage floor. It looks of good quality construction - but its unclear why it couldn't' have been designed to accommodate the dual-mode exhaust - I've learned of some people modifying the hitch to make it work but I haven't had the time nor inclination to do it myself.

I'm (at least) the second person to install this hitch on a Cadillac XLR, which shares a frame with the C6 Corvette. Fits fine, and the wire supplied for pulling the bolts into place is exactly what's needed to do the job without leaving a loose bolt astray inside the frame rails. Lowes had a metal-cutting hole saw for about $12 which cut the required 1.5 inch access hole with ease. The instructions call for drilling 17/32 holes for the rear bolts. That's a very hard-to-find size, but a 1/2 bit did the job for me.

The hitch was fairly easy to install. It was for a C6 Corvette. The hitch is installed so the tow bar exits the car between the exhaust tips. If the car has an after market exhaust system, there may not be room to install the hitch pin horizontally. In my case, I drilled the hitch to install the hitch pin vertically.
