Order was received in a timely manner. Everything we needed was included. We installed the base plate ourselves after purchasing the necessary tools following the instructions included with the order. Our first tow of over 500 miles was successful with the jeep following safely behind. The Blue Ox is very easy to hook and unhook taking about 5 to 10 minutes to hook up and about 3 minutes to unhook. The base plate on the jeep is not noticeable and does not detract from the look of the jeep.

If you buy this exact model be sure to use the LARGER thread size nuts and bolts first. I failed to pay CLOSE attention to the factory instructions and had to "regroup" to finish the install.
All in all an Awesome product and even more AWESOME shopping experience.

The installation of this Baseplate on my 2016 Wrangler was very simple and the instructions were easy to follow. I ran into one problem; there is no mention on how much space is allowable between the base plate and the frame. On my vehicle I had about 1/8" on each side ( a total of 1/4" ). This looked like too large of a gap so I called Blue Ox and they said that was normal and that the two plates would get pulled in against the frame when I torqued down the bolts; sure enough they did. So a note that says something like " The base plate may touch the frame rails when held in place but a gap of up to 1/8 inch per side is within the allowable tolerance."
The Tech rep at HitchSource was extremely helpful and explained everything I needed to get for my installation. Everything looks great and is functioning wonderfully.

Ordered the kit because it was the best value. Took a little longer than the estimated 2.5 hours, probably because my grand-daughter was helping! The only drawback was the two wiring harnesses included. Had to call the help line to figure out which one I needed. The technician was very helpful and explained which one I needed and explained the best way to install it. Overall, Hitch Source provides a good quality service. They will be my "go to" place for any towing accessories I need.

I purchased the total Blue Ox kit to hook up my 2010 Jeep Wrangler. Had it installed at a local RV shop. The shop told me that everything was complete in the kit. The shop And I saved about $700.00 by purchasing the kit and paid for labor at a RV shop. I would order from Hitchsource.com again.

This is my second vehicle that I have installed a baseplate on. The Jeep is more complicated than my Toyota Tacoma however, the instructions and videos are right on!
The Jeep baseplate installed as stated and looks great on the Jeep when done.

I installed a base plate on my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport which saved me about $800. Instructions were easy. I used advice of another DIYer and used a 1/2 drill bit for the top holes that needed to be drilled in the frame of the Jeep. Be sure to paint the holes after you drill them. I am on my first trip and I wouldn't even know the Jeep was in tow if I didn't have a rear view camera on RV.

The base plate fit perfectly and was simple to install following the instructions. The shipping container could have been a little more robust. It was torn at both ends but only the plastic caps were missing. UPS did tape up the box at one point in its journey.

I cannot speak to the towing experience yet, as I have not been fortunate enough to have an opportunity to tow my Jeep, but I did install the base plate to get ready. I expect all to go well.
As far as installation, the instructions were very easy to understand. I worked alone, took my time, and followed the instructions step by step. I did not jack up the Jeep, just did it all in my driveway, in front of the garage.
Only change was, that for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler, I did not have to do any metal cutting. Once the bumper was off, I just clamped the base plate in place, drilled the holes, and bolted it in. Then followed the reassembly and final steps for the bumper and it was done.
I am a 60 year old guy, reasonably familar with tools, but my mechanic days are 30 years behind me. Since my Jeep was brand new, I took extra care and time every step of the way, double-checking everything, very careful on the torque settings, etc., 3-4 hours total. But actual 'real' installation time, would have been less than 2 hours, if I would have just pushed through it.
My only suggestion to make the whole process a little easier, would have been to mark my plastic splash pan for its notching around the base plate while the base plate was still on the ground. It was a little difficult to get the notches located right, once the whole thing was installed. Not terribly difficult, just took a little trial and error to get it right.
Overall, the experience was very good in getting this base plate installed on my Jeep.
