Spent 10 minutes filing the hole for the bigger bolt on the passenger side, before the bolt would fit. Might've been mostly paint over spray, but think I did take some metal off. Did not remove the rubber isolator on the muffler in front of the rear wheels, just the one at the back of the car. However, had to jack the Tiguan up in order to get good access -- was a lot trickier without jacking it up.
On my previous vehicle (4-dr sedan), the hitch stuck out an inch past the bumper. And my Thule bike rack has quite a long receiver shaft so I could open my trunk without dropping the bike rack post down (ie even with it loaded with bikes). However, this hitch's receiver is short of the bumper by a couple of inches so I will have to drop the... Read More

Very nice hitch, pretty easy install with good directions. Fits perfectly on the new Tiguan, looks better than factory mount! Great service from Hitchsource, will definitely buy from here again if I need another hitch.
