HitchSource shipped this out promptly and I got the hitch within 3 days. UPS is incredibly rough with packages and the box was pretty banged up when it got here but no major issues.
I'm pretty handy and work on my own vehicles. Let me tell you that this is not an installation for the faint of heart. You have to take the rear bumper off the car, and that is easy enough but getting it back on properly without damage is not simple. It is tedious getting the fender well clips back on.
The main issue is that the hitch is slightly too wide for the clearance under the Golf ( mine is a 1998 K2 ). I had to not only remove undercoating but also "persuade" the sides of the hitch with a sledge to bend them in slightly to get the hitch between... Read More
