The hitch fit my 2006 E500 wagon perfectly! There was hardly any space between the hitch and the bottom of the bumper.
One comment: facing the rear of the car, I see that the right length of the hitch bar almost touches my right exhaust. Once in a while, the exhaust pipe vibrates enough to hit against the hitch bar causing a weird noise. I had the exhaust pipe pushed a little more away, and the vibration stopped. You might want to make that side of the bar a little shorter.
All in all, it was a great buy!
