As I have found in the past, Blue Ox makes a top knotch baseplate system. The Blue Ox installation instructions were mostly good but lacked detail for the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee for removal of the bumper cover and for where to install the electrical plug for the tail lights. When removing the cover, there are two sets of 4, flat, release pins. One set are chrome and are only for the grill. Those don't need to be touched. There are 4 more larger hook tabs that are released. The instructions are also not clear about the release near the headlight next to the grill. Be careful but those connection points just snap apart. Every attachment point for the bumper cover is at the outside of the bumper cover - none are behind it. I had to cut a small section out of the lower grill for the electrical plug. No mention is made of cutting in this area. You will need to cut a small section of the bumper cover on each side to provide clearance for the baseplates to stick through. The Blue Ox instruction pictures say to bend the included electrical plug bracket but you will wreck the powder coating if you bend it. I ended up purchasing another bracket and screwing it to the cover below the opening I made rather than above as shown in the instructions. Other than that the baseplates bolt on very nicely.
