Connecting wiring harness was very easy just wish there was some way to get the wires out of the interior of the car without drilling a hole.

I first bought the Honda CRV trailer hitch, thinking that most auto shops could do the wiring. I should have just ordered this wiring kit with the hitch. There is no splicing of wires etc. and both the hitch and the wiring kit are very inexpensive compared to what the Honda Dealership wanted. A friend of mine was able to install with no problems.
I hauled my 1050# camper from Southern MD to Southern VA, with my 2009 CRV and had no problems.

To install the adapter you need to get the drivers side rear panel out about 1/2 the way towards the front, far enough to be able to reach in behind to plug in the connector to factory end that is empty. To remove the round fasteners simply push the middle section pin down, then the entire clip can be lifted out. (You have to "reset" these clips by releasing the catches on the bottom side and letting the center pin come up to reuse) Once the clips are removed pop open the cover that is behind the drivers side rear seat...
