Softride's Access Dura: Move over Yakima and Thule, there's a new rack in town!

Finally, the ultimate combination of features in a hitch mounted rack. The new Softride Dura series racks offer Softride's patented fold down mechanism combined with new anti-sway bike arms. This rack offers all the features of the classic Access Pull Pin rack, plus major improvements to the bike mounts, and a sleek aero designed base frame.

This rack lowers for easy access to the rear of your vehicle without unloading a single bicycle. Simply release the pull pin on the side of the rack to lower it for cargo access or to load the bikes. Unlike other brands, the Softride Dura rack can be even be lowered when fully loaded with bikes.

The rack includes Softrides QuietRide hitch locking and tightening system to ensure that the rack does not vibrate or rattle. With the included hitch lock, your rack is securely attached to your vehicle. It also includes a retractable cable lock for securing your bikes to the rack. The padlock is not included.

The Softride Access Dura's anti-sway system perfectly complements the over-molded cradles of the rack arms giving your bike the smoothest, safest ride around. The Softride Dura is equipped with rubber straps to ensure your bike remains securely on your rack when you are navigating the roads. I am very happy with the Softride hitch rack. It was easy to put together and easy to use. What I like about it is it is easy for my wife to load bikes on. It is really sturdy and the bikes ride on the rack really good and they do not move around. I also like the locking pin on the hitch and also the way I can lock up the bikes and not have to worry about them being stolen.
When I recieved the Softride, there were parts in the box that were broke during shipping. I called HitchSource and they shipped to me new parts right away. HitchSource is a very dependable company, with fast and friendly service. The Softride Hitch Rack is a very good product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality hitch rack at a reasonable

Smooth business transaction from hitchsource.com. The Softride product is well made and fairly simple to install. The directions/instructions were lacking some detail which made for a do over on a couple of steps.
Thank You.

This is a great rack for long trips, but probably more rack than I need.

The good: The rack is rock solid, with no wobble, and holds four bikes snugly. The swing-down feature lowers the bikes nicely to get them on and off and allows me to open the rear hatch. It also looks pretty good. I would be very comfortable using this on a long road trip.

The bad: The anti-wobble pin has to be screwed in and out with a 3/4" wrench (not included) to add or remove the hitch, which makes putting it in for a 20 minute ride to the park a pain. (I may try replacing the anti-wobble pin with a regular pin to see if it makes installation and removal easier). Some frame types require a bike adapter bar.

All in all, I am glad I have this rack,... Read More

This rack incorporates a lot of good ideas. The way it lowers so you can open your trunk/hatch is really nice. We recently used it on a 10 hour drive with 3 bikes and had no real issues. It is worth noting that we have full suspension mountain bikes... our bigger bike fits on the rack fine but the smaller bike (my wife is about 5'6") does not fit well b/c the rear shock gets in the way. We still have to use bungee's to secure it... nonetheless I'm happy with the purchase.

I bought this rack because I had had experience with an older version. This one is much improved! The straps are easy to snap in place; not so the old one. And the anti-sway is another slick improvement. In short, I'm delighted!--Ellen Lorish Lewisburg, WV

While I have not owned any hitch mounted racks before, I am very happy with this rack. We used it almost immediately to take four bikes on a family vacation. It is really easily to lower and raise the rack even with four bikes on it. The only issue that I have with the rack is that the lettering is stick-on and came off before I even had a chance to get the rack on the car.

We just purchased this rack and found it to be stable and sturdy. When you first attach the hitch it moves a little and you think maybe it is not be completely in place, but once on the road the bikes did not move. We still used a bungee to secure the bikes to each other. The pull pin works well, but can be a little difficult to get back into place once down. You have to give it a good shove. I would recommend this rack.

Easy installation, quality rack! We love this rack!! We replaced our cheap Schwinn rack with this Softride rack, and are now very happy. We had to purchase adapter bars for the kids' bikes and for my (ladies) bike so that they would fit on more easily. I was able to get my bike on without it, but my water bottle cage made it more difficult. LOVE the fact that this tilts down to put the bikes on easier and for the access to the hatch on our SUV. Absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality, easy to use rack.

This is a great rack. It is the only one I have ever used, but so far I am very pleased. It is easy to use and makes it really easy to access the back of my Yukon. I have only put two bikes on at one time so far, but it holds the bikes great.
The assembly instructions were okay, but they were confusing on the way the certain things are to be placed. Also the spacers on the rails were upside down so that the rails would not lock into the pins. I had to turn the spacers over so there was enough length to get the rails to go all the way in. It is very easy to change since all the spacers and holders just slide off the rails.
Everything else about the rack is great and the quality for the price seems to be great.

I needed a 4 bike rack to replace my Yakima, and purchased the Dura Pull - I am incredibly impressed with the build and operation of this unit, and how well it works. It is really "Heavy Duty". I also like the way it doesn't "wobble" in the hitch receiver. Finally, it was mostly assembled when I received it - it was very fast and easy to put together. I HIGHLY recommend this unit, and probably anything Softride builds - it is that good.
