I installed a base plate on my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport which saved me about $800. Instructions were easy. I used advice of another DIYer and used a 1/2 drill bit for the top holes that needed to be drilled in the frame of the Jeep. Be sure to paint the holes after you drill them. I am on my first trip and I wouldn't even know the Jeep was in tow if I didn't have a rear view camera on RV.
